Would you be able to look into that at all? I'll look too, when I get a chance.
I'll also look into getting advanced hosting for creating wikis on popular topics like major video games, which I should hopefully be able to get, since we'll have a source for the content.

You can have the same subdomain, but the domain is just wikkii.net
The Farmer system is really just like one wiki, so a Farmer wiki can't just be upgraded. It doesn't matter too much though, since other users can help move pages at your own pace, and you can just leave a notice on the wiki saying that you moved. It's a whole separate system, but you get A LOT more.

That said, I think that Check User is still a very important tool for countering trolling/vandalism.
If there was some way of creating a global log in system like at Wikia, I think it would certainly be worthwhile to allow some sort of Wikkii Staff type group to have access to it.

I agree with what you are saying.
I disagree slightly with the second part, as setting up a wiki is reletively easy and doesn't require a lot of programming knowedged, although there is a steep learning curve that might thwart a lot of trolls initially.
While most trolls wouldn't just set up a wiki just to get IP addresses, there are a lot of people who have used and have an understanding of MediaWiki. The situation I could see happening (I see trolls using farmer wikis more, as it wouldn't require permission to set up, and would be harder to moderate) is that a group of people into internet culture could set up a wiki full of inside jokes and over-the-top satire, which would evolve into making fun of people. Give that time, and you'd likely have someone come in and make an NYPA request or do something else to earn the disfavor of his peers. With access to Check User, they'd get the user's IP and then start all kinds of harrassment.
My concern with this situation is that Bill9929 has already trolled a wiki, had a very unfortunate run-in with other trolls, and has also created a wiki he plans to use for documenting trolls, and is now asking for Check User to be added. My guess is that he wants to bait people into trolling/vandalizing his wiki and then get their IP addresses. Regardless of what has happened, that would not be right. And besides, any harassing information would be deleted by Wikkii. If this is the case, my advice to him is that if Wikkii removed a wiki that harassed him, they will remove any wiki he creates that harasses other people.

If your wiki has existed for some time and is currently active, you should definately be able to get advanced hosting.
Advanced hosting gives you a new wiki, but you can just put a notice on your old wiki letting people know about the move to the new wiki, and asking them to help you move the pages. It is definately worth getting advanced hosting. You can add the notice to MediaWiki:Sitenotice so that it will display on all pages.
I am also currently writing a guide on the Hub Wiki for Advanced Hosting users.

I feel slightly less concerned about it since it doesn't have much on it, though that does make me concerned about what he might put on it, or what he intended it for.
He apperently created a sockpuppet account on a wiki at Wikia impersonating the sysop Meepsheep from Encyclopedia Dramatica and uploaded the picture called Pain Series so that he could block the account, write a blog entry about it, and look like a hero who protected the wiki and did not tolerated vandalism. What ended up happening was that the Wikia staff saw that he was the one responsible by checking the IP addresses of the accounts and desysoped and banned him. At some point Meepsheep retailiated and wrote an article about Bill on ED. I think the "Antiedgroup" that was deleted recently was his response to this (he was the creator). My concern is that he wants Check User so he can bait trolls into editing his wiki and then doxing them. I strongly recommend against doing this. 1) using this hosting service for harrassment is certainly prohibited 2) He shouldn't be harrassing people by doxing them 3) doing so would only esclate the situation against him 4) it probably won't work as trolls will probably use proxies, and there's the chance the IP address won't give enough useful information.
While I am very disturbed by the kind of person who would upload Pain Series to a very public wiki, I feel that we should continue to assume good faith and treat him the same as any other user unless he does anything to engage in harrassment here. I think that we should be vigilant for underhanded things here like at Wikia, but we should still treat him like anyone else until that point.
Overall, I think that this is something we should just not get involved with, and try to maintain neutrality in the issue.

I'd really like to see Check User installed, but I don't think it will because of the difficulty with adding extensions requiring database changes to the farmer wikis. (I personally don't know anything about it, so I don't know if it would be hard or impossible) Also, Check User is not good for all situations, as frequent vandals would likely just use a proxy server or other method of changing their IP address.
Due to recent events, I would also like to add that Check User is intended for private use by authorized administrators, and is not intended as a method of harassment.
