I have a question, if there is a possibility to park a domain I have, to existing wiki?

Hi Robert,

Do you mean you want to use your domain for your wiki?

If so, I change change your account to the domain name. All you need to do is change you nameservers to point to us.

Is this what you wanted? smile

I have a domain name wiki.bystrze.org, and wiki page: bystrze.wikkii.com. What I want is to use domain wiki.bystrze.org instead of bystrze.wikkii.com. Of course I can change address in the nameserver - please let me know what should be the IP.

Oh, it's a sub-domain. Unfortunately we can't do that then. Sorry I thought you meant a top-level domain name.

The only viable solution is to probably redirect all visitors from your old site to the new one.

Something like the solution here will work: http://www.wikkii.com/forums/index.php/topic,73.0.html

Can we use a top-level alternative, like co.cc?

Hi John,

I'm afraid we don't support those free domain alternatives like .co.cc

Sorry about that.

Any other questions feel free to ask smile

Does this mean that I can't have a wiki at malleus-commons.sturmkrieg.com?

If you mean you wish to redirect your own subdomain to a Wikkii subdomain and mask the URL of the Wikkii subdomain, technically, should be able to do this if you have access to the DNS settings on your current host.

Your domain registrar may also have an option to do this.

However it may be easier to mask it with an iframe, however this will not be very good for SEO purposes.

To be honest I would prefer if you didn't do any masking, as leaving the Wikkii address in the URL will help to promote us a little bit smile

I tried it with masking, but there seemed to be a problem getting to one of the special pages, so I just set it to a redirect.  I realized that using the wikkii.net domain name would be a promotion, so I decided not to worry about it.  Although, I think it's very good for attracting people to the service to be able to at least use the root domain with their wikis.  That way, it's basically a full, free web host for wikis, or at least close enough.  This is pretty much all you need if you're looking to host a wiki and your domain registar is cheap and gives you a lot of control.  I'm thinking about looking for such registars to mention on the Community Wiki, since this service would probably be very attractive to people who are looking for free web host for a wiki.
