I'm afraid we don't support SVG at this time, and probably won't for the forseeable future.

If you one day get advanced hosting then you can enable SVG by adding this line to LocalSettings.php

$wgFileExtensions[] = 'svg';

Seems a lot of .svg files when copy/pasting wikipedia content renders on my wikkii. So I guess I'm confused as to why allowing /svg file upload support on our wikkii's is not going to be enabled/supported?

I don't know if it is necessary to disable passthru for a secure system.  I also don't know if there is another way to get SVG to work.

As you mentioned, Wikipedia seems to have it working despite the alleged security risk.  But then Wikipedia also has dozens of programmers and the Wikimedia foundation behind them as well :).
