I found no good venue but if you add this to the LocalSettings.php file for all wikis and make a configs directory (for farmer, its the main wiki's localsettings.php):

@include 'configs/'.$wgFarmer->getActiveWiki().'.php';

Then you can allow LocalSettings.php edits from users at your discretion. Then your users will be like  yahoo

Why I have a feeling that this isn't secure.

I don't think so:

http://wikkii.com/w/README <-- I can access the readme
http://wikkii.com/w/LocalSettings.php <-- 500, not much use imho

I'll think it's safe to say that PHP is just going to turn up blanks.

It's an interesting idea, but farmer wikis don't have access to FTP, so how would they go about editing their own individual LocalSettings.php file?

No, you'd have to edit it.

No, you'd have to edit it.

I thought as much. I don't really want to be manually editing thousands of individual LocalSettings files. I can imagine that will get very tedious, very quickly smile

But you don't need to edit every wiki's file.
