I've noticed that there are a lot of wiki deletion requests.  The problem with this is, there is really know way to determine if the request in genuine or not, since their is no secure methods of identification required to create a wiki or register on the forum.  I figure this is already know, but I just wanted to make sure since it's possible that someone creative could pretend to be the admin of a rival wiki or wiki they were recently banned from and request its deletion. Even the protected page method isn't really safe since someone might pretend to help out a lot on a wiki that doesn't have strict sysop promotion reqirements in order to see it done away with.  I know this is unlikely, but it's really something to prevent at all costs.

Yes that makes sense.

If the wiki is inactive or is obviously closed then it makes it easier, but if there is any doubt we would leave the wiki there while we look into it further.

Thanks for your concern.
