I think that this would be very good for promoting community among Wikkii members and wikis, which would make us a lot more competitive with Wikia.

This service is already far better in my opinion, but a lot of new wiki admins don't always know or see it that way.

There's not nearly as much of a centrally organized community here as there is at Wikia, which would also help membership among our wikis if we could improve it.  One of the things I was planning on doing to help this was to create a few templates with boxes with lists of wikis and what they are for, which could be imported to existing wikis.  Some places where they could be placed would be the Main Page of wikis, Sitenotice, Anonnotice, or at the top of individual pages.  I also plan to make footers that could go at the bottom of main pages that would have links to similar wikis, which is something that a lot of major Wikia wikis have.  We could also have some sort of header that says the wiki is part of a general category, such as gaming, with a link to a list of Wikkii gaming wikis.

Please let me know what you think, and if you have a wiki you would like to include in this.

I set up the Community Wiki at http://communitywiki.wikkii.com which we can use as sort of a central community place.

I will be using the Hub Wiki in conjunction with this too.  It has more of a tech support focus for wiki admins, which how I will focus my contributions to it.  I mention this because I don't want it to seem like I'm neglecting or forgetting about it.

If you would like to join it, that would be great.

BTW, I'm creating a footer to go at the bottom of mainpages of writing/story related wikis here: http://communitywiki.wikkii.com/wiki/Template:Writingwikisfooter if anyone has or just knows about a writing related wiki to add to it.

I'm also working on compiling a list of writing wikis here: http://communitywiki.wikkii.com/wiki/Writing_Wikis which I encourage additions to.

I will also be creating lists of wikis of other topics if anyone wants to add their wiki or knows of a wiki to add.
