Hello, it's me, EpicWikipedian. If you don't know me already, I'm the site leader of Crash Bandicoot News Central (http://crashbandicootnewscentral.gamewiki.me/wiki/Crash_Bandicoot_News_Central), which I originally founded through Wikia on 11 November 2011, then decided to move to Wikkii on 7 April 2012 after they made a few changes to my wiki which I did not like. Not only that, but Wikia treated me very poorly, and even refused to close down the original wiki. wall

Now, let me make this clear. It was a tough task finding a new host for my wiki, and Wikkii, Referata and the very new MyWikis all looked like promising deals to me. However, Referata, while ad-free, had a limit to the files you could upload, and MyWikis was very new so I couldn't really trust it. So, I chose Wikkii, because it appeared to have what I need, and I heard a lot of good things about it.

But anyways, enough of that. Now that I've been on Wikkii for two-and-a-half weeks, I am glad to say that this host is amazing compared to Wikia. However, obviously, Wikkii is not perfect and probably never will be. Because of this, I would like to offer a few suggestions to Wikkii on how to improve.

1. Please install the enhanced navigation for the Vector skin on farmer wikis.
This makes the wiki experience far better, and to be honest, improves the Vector skin by miles, so it would be really great if Wikkii could add a checkbox in Special:Farmer/admin which says something like "Enable enhanced navigation". Not only that, but it is even on Wikipedia, so you know it is good. More information about this is on http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Vector.

2. Please make the permissions for autoconfirmed users customizable.
For instance, would it please be possible to make non-administrators move pages, but only if they are autoconfirmed? Same goes for uploading files, or if the administrators of a particular site feel a little bit kinder, make uploading files possible for all registered users but limit overwriting existing files to autoconfirmed users and administrators.

3. Please expand the Frequently Asked Questions page on the central wiki.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could increase the amount of questions answered on that page to about 15, maybe adding questions like "I want to remove my wiki", so that the forums don't flood with the same questions asked over and over again.

4. Please add a "Wiki Removals" forum to the Wikkii forums.
At first, the forums just appeared to be flooding with wiki removal requests which aren't really of interest to anyone except for the Wikkii administrators. Can there please be a seperate forum for them so that I can look at topics which are of interest to me? Thanks!

5. Finally, there is a typo which needs to be fixed.
At the top of the forums where it says "Support Category" and all of that stuff, the "Wikkii Support Forum" is missing a second "p" in "Support". Could anybody fix that, please?

Also, just to get this out of the way, in the Frequently Asked Questions page, on the Monaco skin, it is possible to add logos of up to 155x216 pixels in size, so you might wish to mention that.

Just to repeat what I said earlier in this topic, this host is amazing compared to Wikia. Well done, Wikkii! Thank you so much for offering a great service which Wikia failed to offer! thumbsup

You can apply for advanced hosting, which gives you total control over the wiki.  Setting up and working with MediaWiki is fairly easy.  Literally the only two restrictions are that you have a link back to Wikkii somewhere visible from the main page and an adbanner visible to logged out users.

Thank you for taking the time to write up such thorough suggestions. I have fixed the typo in the forum title, that must have been there for a long time. Can't believe I never noticed it, lol.

And will look at implementing some of the others at a later date.

Glad you are enjoying the hosting smile

It was there even when I registered here. How could you miss it!?

About #3, you can go to the Community Wiki and add support for new users if you want.  A link on the main wiki would be good too.
